UNTIL THE DAY I DIE, MY WORK AND MYSELF WILL ALWAYS BE A WORK IN PROGRESS. I invite you along this journey to see my progression as a photographer and as a human being.
Dance Study: Maria Monge
Dancer: Maria Monge
Thought I’d share another image from my first Dance Study session with Maria Monge. For her dance portfolio, Maria wanted to incorporate some action shots to our session and we found this nice wire sculpted fence/gate to work with. We started with talking about what she would do and had her do some practice jumps so that I could figure out how to frame the shot. Once set up we did a few attempts and within a few shots, we weren’t getting the shots that we were looking for; so we took a quick break. I chatted with her and told her to imagine doing the same jump whilst doing a performance. Maybe that would get the jump (as well as the expression) to look better than what we had been capturing.
After that the jumps were just a little bit higher and we were getting some really good images. Thankfully, after reviewing this series of jumps, Maria picked this one. Mission accomplished. 🙂 Thoughts?
