Dance Study: Jane King
Dancer: Jane King Assisted By: Claire Guthrie
Sometimes, some really good images can be captured even when you are not expecting it. What do I mean by that? Well, at the end of my Dance Study session with Jane, she thought of one more dance move to try, but wasn’t sure how it would come out on camera. Since we were still shooting in the multi-burst setting of my camera, I would be able to get a workable shot. Got my camera set up, got my composition set up, and Jane did the turn she wanted to do (thankfully she explained what would happen before we attempted the shot). After finishing it, she decided it wasn’t gonna work and that we weren’t gonna try it again; plus I think by this point of the session she was tapped out. But then an interesting thing happens when she looks at the all the shots I took, she looked at this image and LOVED it! And her friend Claire agreed. After she saw and liked the image, she definitely did not wanna continue or do that turn again, lol.
I can honestly say this shot was a lovely bonus to the session and has become one of my favorite shots of the Dance Study series. And I’m sure she was also glad that she didn’t have to endure those ballet heels a second time, lol.
